Design Engineer

L-3 Communications Cincinnati Electronics is entering its sixth decade of spaceflight heritage. L-3 CE Space Electronics' business unit specializes in the design, manufacture and marketing of high-reliability electronic equipment specially designed and qualified for use on missiles, launch vehicles, and spacecraft.

We are currently seeking a Design Engineer with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, MSEE Preferred, with 0-5 years experience. An interest in Research and Development Engineering is a requirement for this Design Engineering position. An interest in communication system design is highly desirable. A willingness to be flexible and learn in a dynamic work environment is needed. Experience with FPGAs in high-speed applications is desired. A working knowledge of basic RF design fundamentals, such as proper signal termination, is also desirable, especially in high speed (hundreds of Megabits per second) environments. A strong desire to learn and good communication skills are essential to being successful in this position. The ideal candidate will also be willing to work outside his/her primary expertise. He/She will be willing to learn new skills in a short time period to support new product development efforts.

Responsibilities will include the design, development, analysis and troubleshooting of electronic equipment developed on Research and Development (R&D) projects. The individual will be required to work closely with other engineering disciplines including system, mechanical, manufacturing and test engineers to provide an integrated solution that meets all the project requirements. The individual will also be required to work closely with business development in order to facilitate an understanding of market forces that can drive changes to specifications. Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain a security clearance.
